Village of Lang Volunteer Fire Department
Fire protection is provided to the Village of Lang through the Lang Volunteer Fire Department. The Volunteer Fire Department also provides fire protection for the RM of Scott, the RM of Brokenshell, and the RM of Caledonia. The Volunteer Fire Department has 17 volunteer firemen. The Fire Chief for the Lang Volunteer Fire Department is Brendon Sobchuk.
Rural Call-out Fees:
- Non-Member Rate – $1,000.00 per hour
- Member Rate – $1,250.00 for the first hour and then $750.00 for each additional hour.
2018 SCBA Replacement Units Project
The Village of Lang with the aid of the community and rural residents held numerous fundraising events. In addition Richardson Pioneer Donated $10,000.00 in order to subsidize the cost of replacing four SCBA units, spare tanks and eleven sets of turn out gear.
The Village of Lang would like to thank Richardson Pioneer and the community for raising funds to ensure that our Volunteer Fire Department maintains essential equipment necessary for keeping our community safe.
2019 Brush Truck
The Lang Volunteer Fire Department purchased a Brush Truck in 2019. Funds raised for this purchase was done through event fundraisers, resident and corporate donations, and grants.
In addition The Rural Municipality of Scott gave a $30,000.00 to be used for this purchase as well as replacement of additional fire equipment.
The Village of Lang would like to thank the R.M. of Scott, Lang Helping Hand Club, Lang Community Club, the community and those that donated funds for helping us purchase this truck.
